Virgil's Bait Shop & Ice House June 2020

Sep’s Outdoors, Inc., “California Sportsmen Radio Show” proudly welcomes VIRGIL’S BAIT SHOP AND ICE HOUSE to the advertising family. We are very pleased to have them on board as an advertiser on the show and knowing what and how they do business, it’s very easy to promote and talk about them to our listening audience.

Virgil’s is a traditional spot on the corner at the entrance to Suisun City. It’s at 201 Main Street and is a familiar location to many, serving for a lot of years as the Bay and Delta headquarters for anglers and sportsmen. It’s just down the street from the Suisun public launch ramp.

We sat at the big round table in the center of the shop while LINDA BUTCHER, owner and manager, took Sep and me through their operation. You just know that VIRGIL’S has everything you need to make your day complete…& like we say in their ad….”whether trolling, casting or bait fishing for Striped Bass, sitting on anchor for Sturgeon, chasing Salmon runs or simply ‘fishing for a bite’”! While we talked, customers dropped by for live bait, tackle, snacks or cold drinks & it was fun as Linda took care of their needs.

VIRGIL’S maintains a tremendous selection of top-producing fresh live baits, a wide assortment of tackle, lures, hooks, weights, lines, rods and reels…plus everything in between. You can buy your fishing license there plus It’s also the place to stop by for advice – what’s biting, where, what anglers are using, etc. And another thing, VIRGIL’s is never out of ice. As a matter of fact, they have lots of ice and deliver tons of it to folks as needed!

The shop is easy to find & if you’re an angler, you already know where it is and have probably stopped in many times before heading out for a day on the water. The whole place is loaded with atmosphere and is very comfortable and laid-back. It’s a really neat place to visit, full of memorabilia and personality, well worth visiting…and certainly with the kids. They open early at 6AM daily & except for Sunday, close at 8PM. So, stop by for what you need, or a cold drink…or a really cold beer!!
