Finalized details last week and brought our new Jayco 22J home. Looks real comfortable stashed along-side the garage while we take the necessary steps to fill in the details. With the major heat spell going on right now, that’s taking some extra time – it’s a bit difficult to push hard in the heat! We’re lucky really because we put all the stuff that was in the trailer on hold so we’re now re-situating it in the new RV…in a somewhat leisurely fashion.

We did a lot of research, internet searches and visits to dealers and feel we’ve made the right decision with this unit. It’s a really pretty 24’8” rig, on a huge Ford E-450 body with a V10 engine and is complete with a slide-out bedroom, loft over the cab, big bathroom, refrigerator/freezer, 3-burner stove, microwave and convection oven plus tons of cabinets and closets. And, a very effective air-conditioner that runs on a quiet generator. Just what two adults and two Brittany dogs need!

Why the decision to go this route? We’ve had a trailer for several years, haven’t used it very much and wanted something totally versatile and easy to pack and get us out on the road quickly. We had purchased the trailer and took a few trips, then got a PUPPY! Not so easy to travel with, especially when he becomes a talker. We knew if we took him into a campground, our neighbors wouldn’t love him like we did…so we decided to take it easy till he grew up a bit. Well, he still talks now, but in a more mature way so it’s time to head out on the road again. In the meantime, our ideas changed…so the RV motor home became the goal. Now it’s here and we are looking forward to this next chapter!!

Our experience at Manteca Trailer and Motorhome needs to be mentioned. These folks, with General Manager Gio Romitti at the helm, have the inventory with about 500 units on site to check out. Our sales guy, Jacob Tucker, is a really nice guy - a professional who knows his business and who is easy and comfortable to be around. We had a good time, including test drives on a road that delivers about any conditions an RV driver will experience. The whole process was handled well. As a matter of fact, Manteca Trailer is not just a spot to find the unit you’re looking for, it’s also a complete RV superstore! We certainly did our share of getting what we needed, like hoses, regulators and more. The service area is gigantic and they can handle any and all situations anyone might have.

So now it’s on to start the adventure…so many places, so much to do. Invites have begun and hopefully we’ll be on our way real soon….looking forward to it. You WILL see us on the road!
